Rare vintage (May 31, 1953) French competition oval metal award plaque for overall prize (Prix D'Ensemble). The competition was held in Nouvion, a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. Note the raised design of cattle, pig and a lamb on the face of the plaque. Award plaque has original red paint with raised lettering. Loop at top, ready to hang alone or in a grouping.
Award plaques from French breeding competitions (concours agricole) of various cattle/cows or horse breeds were usually displayed on the exterior or interior of the barn or stall for all to see in passing by.
