Made by Pont des Vernes, their French factory opened in the 1800s and produced pieces of utility stoneware until WW2. Rare to find these very old glazed crocks/jars with their original lid! In very good antique condition with only one small chip underneath the lid (see photo’s). Stains and crazing on the interior due to use and age. Circa very early 1900s. Marked on the bottom and on one side. This jar was traditionally made to store preserves/jam in the kitchens of France. Charming piece for the collector of antique French crocks/stoneware.
Measures 4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter.
