Found in northern France, this large antique copper bucket would surely be a fabulous planter. Dating from the late 1800s, it has a thick copper swing handle with firmly riveted loops attached to the main body. The bottom appears to be brass! Lovely aged patina; we have left as found. No dents or repairs. Despite its many, many years the bucket is in excellent overall condition. Interior has some verdigris due to age and use. Solid, heavy and watertight. Was most likely used originally to carry water from well to kitchen.
